Data Governance and Ethics Trainer

Job Description: We are looking for an experienced Data Governance and Ethics Trainer to deliver high-quality training sessions focused on data governance, data management, and ethical considerations in data science. This role is ideal for both seasoned professionals and fresh graduates passionate about teaching data governance frameworks, compliance, and data ethics. As a freelance trainer, you will design, develop, and conduct courses that help learners understand the importance of data governance and ethical practices in data handling and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Course Development: Design and develop comprehensive training programs on data governance, compliance, and data ethics tailored to various skill levels, including beginner, intermediate, and advanced learners. Topics include data privacy laws, data quality management, compliance frameworks, and ethical considerations in data usage.
  • Content Creation: Create and regularly update instructional materials such as presentations, case studies, practical exercises, and policy templates that reflect current best practices in data governance and ethical standards in data science.
  • Training Delivery: Conduct live, interactive training sessions via online platforms or in-person, focusing on key areas such as data stewardship, regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), risk management, and ethical decision-making in data usage.
  • Student Assessment: Evaluate student performance through quizzes, assignments, and practical case studies. Provide detailed feedback to support their understanding and application of data governance principles and ethical considerations.
  • Support and Mentorship: Offer personalized support to students, addressing their questions and assisting with developing data governance frameworks, compliance strategies, and ethical guidelines for real-world applications.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data governance, data privacy regulations, and ethical standards. Incorporate new regulations, tools, and best practices into the training curriculum.

Qualifications:

For Experienced Professionals:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of professional experience in data governance, data management, compliance, or related fields. Experience with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and ethical standards is highly desirable.
  • Teaching Experience: Previous experience in teaching or training, particularly in a freelance or online setting, is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, compliance standards, data privacy laws, and ethical practices. Familiarity with tools and technologies used in data governance (e.g., data catalogs, DLP solutions) is a plus.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Data Governance and Stewardship Professional (DGSP), or similar are preferred but not mandatory.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex regulatory and ethical concepts clearly and effectively.

For Freshers:

  • Education: A degree or certification in Data Science, Information Systems, Law, Ethics, or a related field with a focus on data governance and ethics.
  • Technical Skills: Basic understanding of data governance principles, compliance regulations, and ethical considerations, gained through academic coursework, internships, or personal projects.
  • Passion for Teaching: A strong interest in teaching and mentoring students in data governance and ethics, with a commitment to developing effective training methods.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of making complex data governance and ethical topics accessible and understandable.
